I thought that it'd be fun to do a post all about Alaura (since I don't post about her very often...lol) She's sooo funny sometimes. As most of you know she loves Disney Princesses. Well, a week ago we got her The Little Mermaid and now when you ask her what Daddy's name is she says "Prince Eric" The other night we were eating dinner and she stuck her fork in her mouth then in her hair!!! It was sticky and we asked her what she was doing..."It's a dinglehopper" she said!!! So now she needs a fork for eating with and a dinglehopper to comb her hair with. :) Every morning when we're getting ready she asks me to fix her hair like a princess. I'm not sure why but she decided that certain hair styles look like different princesses. Ariel has a ponytail, Cinderella has piggy tails (any way to pull your hair up on both sides is Cinderella.) And when i crimped her hair she called it princes Aurora Hair. So far These are the ones she's named, but I'm sure there will be more.
Last night we went out to eat with my family for Lyndsey's 15th birthday (she'll be driving in a year...yikes!!) And while we were sitting down Eric was playing with her and told her he was going to eat her piggy tail. She threw her arms up over her piggy tails "No, I'm protecting them!" It was sooo funny to hear her say that out of know where.
She's also taken to calling us by our first names sometimes. Usually when she wants something she'll tell me "I want to stay in the shower Brooke...Otay?" or "Eric come here...Otay" She's really into this "Otay" thing. It's so fun to watch her grow and learn to assert herself. We're careful about teaching her when it's ok too... She also like to tell me "Mommy be nice to me otay? Be nice to me" She uses this one anytime I tell her she can't have or do something...
The other day in the car Eric and I were listening to her have an involved discussion with her hand...it went something like this:
"My hand hit tigger...go to time out...12345, 20...come here please... why were you in time out?...Why you hit tigger? why?...Say you're sorry (sorry)...Don't hit tigger okay? I love you" then she gave her hand a kiss.
This was delivered with so much compassion it made me feel proud because this is very similar to what her time outs sound like. I'm so glad that she wasn't spanking her hand or yelling at it (which we don't do) ...She really catches on to things. Anyway it was hilarious the first time i heard it. Now every time we're in the car her hand acts out and gets a time out...
I haven't been taking as many pictures as i normally do, but here are some from the last week.
As I mentioned in a previous post I've been trying to figure out how to work with Alaura n her Potty training...Well, two days ago we started the "Princess Alaura Potty Chart"
She gets to put 1 sticker on it for going pee and 2 for going poo poo in the potty. When she gets 10 she gets to pick out a little potty prize. So far she has 9 stickers! Considering that for a week I was lucky to get one trip to the potty a day...I'm feeling very happy with the results. She had two accidents yesterday. Hopefully she'll decide that she likes the potty again...
Here's my goof ball peeing on the toilet...don't ask me why she's sitting like that...that's the only way she'll go in the potty at home. In public she's fine, but she refuses to sit on the toilet normally at home.
She likes to stack the plastic cups...
and when they fall down she sings the clean up song while she picks them up.
Last, here are the beautiful flowers that she gave me for Mothers Day
I'm so blessed to have her in my life!!!! Well I gotta go cuz she's trying to pull me up to play ring around the roseys
