Catching Up

I made a tutu for Alaura on Sunday...little did I know how much she would LOVE it. She's worn it everyday since :) Here are some pictures I've taken of her recently wearing it.

Here's what happens when a two year old puts a tutu on herself

Here's what she wore yesterday while we ran errands, we got lots of comments about how cute her tutu was and Alaura was very proud of it.

Alaura dressed herself this morning, I think she's pretty stylish

This is my steal of the winter, I got the Little Tykes table with umbrella for $13 at target last month!!! Alaura and I put it together yesterday.

Ooops I did it again...

Well, i think we may have figured out what triggered the allergic reaction...Infant Motrin!!!! (Possibley in combination with the antibiotics) I gave her some this afternoon because her ear was hurting and she had a low fever. Within 15 min her eyes were swelling and she had bumps over her entire body. Poor baby!!! (here's a pic right when it first started) We ran to the pharmacy (she was sitting in her carseat her eyes almost swollen shut eating crackers, happy as a clam) to get Benedryl like the Dr said, luckily it worked, (when we were walking around the store I know people were looking at me like i was crazy for bringing her there and not to the Dr. so I covered her head with a blanket) so we bought a balloon (she's earned it) and came home. Here are a few pics about 20 min after she took the medicine. The swelling is pretty much gone, but she's still a little bit red :( She's had a pretty tough week
What a trooper

The Dr said it might make her a little bit tired...she couldn't stand very well, or walk straight

Sweet dreams

Here are a few random pics I haven't had time to post this week.

Playing with her princess stickers from Mamma

sitting on the couch not feeling good on Sunday

On tuesday she fell asleep trying to put her pants on...She got one foot in

Eric and Alaura waiting to pull Eric's "special cake" (for the Ward Valentines Day dance) out of the oven, they sat there almost the entire time!!! Before everyone got sick...

fevers and shots and screaming...Oh my

What an awful evening and night we had. I took Alaura to the Dr last night at 6:30 and they took her temperature and told me her fever was 104 degrees!!!! I felt so bad for her. He checked her ears and throat (She fought like you wouldn't believe, she even bit the tounge depressor and wouldn't let go) They determined that her ears and throat were red but not infected, nor did it explain the extremely high fever. So they gave her some tylenol and an antibiotic...shot. It was huge, and I was trying to hold her down while they did it...Horrible!!!!
So, we got home and got her to bed late, she woke up and hour later and needed some comforting to fall back asleep (this is becoming a habbit I'm not looking forward to breaking...well i am, but I'm not) then a few hours later (1:30) she woke up and no matter what I did she wouldn't calm down to go to sleep, she kept complaining that she was itchy, so i turned on the light and to my Horror she was covered in huge welts all over her arms legs and face. All I could think was that she was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and I (being the horrible mom that I am) didn't know what it was they had given her. So we went in to the ER. Her fingers were swelling and the rash started turning bright red all over, she was sooooo uncomfortable. Once again the nurse had to fight her to get her vitals, then they sent us to the waiting room with instructions not to leave because the Dr needed to figure out what was wrong. A couple hours later the triage nurse called us back into her office and gave Alaura some benadryl to see if it helped, when we finaly saw the Dr at 5:30 her rash was gone and she was crashed out on me. He claims that it couldn't have been the antibiotics because she'd never had them before and you can't have a reaction to something unless you've already been exposed to it before...we can't think of anything that she was exposed to that was different from any other day...We got a prescription for benedryl and instructions to give it to her next time she comes in contact with whatever it was that caused the whole thing. I'm still not fully convinced it wasn't linked to the antibiotics somehow, but we'll see.
Luckily she's fine now, sleeping on the couch (going on 4 hours now) and showing no signs of the scary looking rash. Poor Eric had to shower and get ready for work as soon as we got home, with only a couple of hours of sleep last night. He's like superman!!! What a hard worker. (I love you honney)
Well, that was our night, how was yours?

Still sick

I'm going to take Alaura to the Dr today. She's not shaking this, and I think she might have an earache. I'll feel so bad if she's had an infection this whole time. i assumed she had the same bug we had, but I'm wondering if it's more seriouse than that. Poor baby. She's been sleeping on the couch most of the morning and keeping me up most of the night the past three nights. She just wants to be held and rocked and sang too. Poor baby :(

Sick and tired of being sick and tired...

We're all sick...AGAIN!!! It feels like atleast one of us has been sick everyday the past few months. Luckily Alaura doesn't get real sick very often, but this time it hit her pretty hard. For those of you who know Alaura well, you know that she never falls asleep anywhere but her bed with her blackout curtains and her fan...

Poor baby is so sick she fell asleep while she was on the couch!!! I know for most people this isn't a big deal, but for alaura... WOW!!!! :(

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!

We hope you have a Great Valentines Day!!!!

Eric and went out to dinner last night at Tahoe Joe's because we have a tradition of having a spaghetti dinner at home on valentines day...It goes back to our first valentines day when we were dating. Eric recreated our first date...he put christmas lights in his backyard and a picture of the temple over our table, and served me spaghetti...our first date was to see the LA temple christmas lighting, then we went out to eat and I ordered spaghetti (stupid of me huh?) So that's our tradition.

Eric brought me a beautiful bouquet of pink roses (I love pink!!!)

While we were at dinner he had me cover my eyes and when I opened them he had a card and gift box sitting infront of me, this is the neclace he gave me!!!!

Camie watched Alaura for us, she had a great time!!! On our way home I asked her what she did with Camie, "ate a sucker" I asked her what color it was "red" So you ate a sucker? "yep I sucked it" wow, what else did you do? "I licked it!!!"
She's too cute. Obviously I was asking her what else she did with Camie, but she was still interested in talking about her sucker. Eric and I laughed so hard.

What a cute little tushy!!!

Alaura's first real attempt at going potty on the toilet. No luck so far, but she's trying.

I think she learned this one from Daddy

So, anyone who has some potty training suggestions, I'm open to them, we're going to really start trying this in the next couple of days!!! Then again, maybe we should wait until after we go to Disneyland for Alaura's birthday. hmmm....

Wyatt's 1st birthday shoot

My friend Randisue brought her little boy over for a 1st birthday photo shoot. Here are some of the pics. I learned that it takes a ton of work to do this...and I need to keep practicing. But I think that the pictures turned out pretty good for being my first try "in studio". Here are a few. What do you think?
