monkey'n around

Well, i haven't really had a whole lot (interesting) going on Lately, but I did found out my hcg levels....164 yay!!!!!!!!! They're going down. It should be a month or so and they'll be near zero.
Alaura's been a little grumpy lately. She really doesn't like me at all. She'll get mad at me when she wakes up in the morning and it's me getting her and not Daddy. She's tell me "no mommy I want my Daddy" But Eric's at work by then, so I pull her out of bed and try to keep her busy. She throws daily tantrums, and gives the meanest looks sometimes. But I know she still loves me and that she hasn't been feeling good lately. So I'm trying to get through this phase. I tell myself that it'll pass. She's still a crack up though. I can tell that Eric loves that she's such a Daddy's Girl lately. I took her to see him at work the other day because i couldn't think of anything else to do to calm her down. She cried the whole way, the second we pulled up and I told her that Daddy was coming she calmed down and was sooo cute. Eric was trying to talk to her telling her to be a good girl, but I could see the twinkle in his eye, his little girl wants him over mommy. I just wish he was home more. She's an angel when he's home. Sometimes I think he wonders what I'm complaining about when i say that I'm tired after a day of taking care of her (and managing the apartments, cleaning, shopping...) :)
I turn into a one man circus when I take her shopping. I probably look so funny playing peekaboo with boxes and jumping around making her laugh. She just likes stuff going on around her.
So, I have this harness that I use for Alaura when we go out shopping, because I know that she wont stay in the cart. ( she's a Houdini with the seat belts) It's a little monkey that clips over her shoulders and around her chest and she thinks it great because i tell her that the monkey's hugging her, and she trys feeding it stuff. Well, I've had mixed responses from people who see me with it. (Actually before I had her I thought it was horrible too) I've heard people say things like "she's not a dog" or "I hate those things"...On the other hand I've had a few parents ask where I got it because they want one too. (Walmart for $10) So, here's my stance on it. If you are able to keep your kids in the cart or if they follow you well, great then you don't need one. However if you have a child that hates riding in carts and you don't have the energy to turn every outing into a circus...then i see nothing wrong with using a harness. i never yank her or drag her, and she's able to walk and get some energy out and I know that she's not going to run off and get kidnapped (that's the world we live in) So I think its a win win situation. If she wants down from the cart she asks for her monkey. She'll even hand me her "tail" except today at Costco, she pulled it out of my hand and handed to Mamma (Grandma Alvey) She really doesn't like me right now. (chuckle chuckle) I'm not sure why, but I think it something to do with the D & C and not being able to hold her for a while. I think she's a little upset at me still. She still goes to me, but if someone else is there she prefers them.
One last funny story about her, Her new favorite game is throwing things down the stairs. Now, the stairs are outside, and she runs out the second i open the door to help a tenant etc. She'll through a ball down and yell "ball" When our maintenance guys comes over we'll talk on the stairs sometimes and she thinks it's great to through everything she can down the stairs and make him get it. Balls, shoes, Containers of wipes, anything she can get her hands on. it's pretty funny to watch her yell "book" as she lobs a large book down the stairs and runs as fast as she can to get the next thing she can find. I love that girl so much. Here are some pics from this week.

i have one of those monkey harnesses too. the few times i put daphne in it- when she feels the resistance she freaks out. so i haven't used it in a while, although i keep meaning to. if someone says something rude to me about it i'm gonna say "if i wanted your opinion i would have asked for it!" cute pictures.
